Lennox’ S-Class™ Split System Named Tops by Buildings Magazine

DALLAS, TX — June 20, 2007 — The industry-leading S-Class™ commercial split system line from Lennox Industries Inc. has been selected by Buildings magazine as a 2007 Editors’ Choice Top Product Pick. The 100-year-old Buildings magazine reaches more than 72,000 commercial building owners and professional facilities managers responsible for over 4.4 million commercial and institutional buildings nationwide.

The S-Class split system is the most energy-efficient commercial split system in the market,* and was designed to help businesses receive an excellent return on their HVAC investment. This superior efficiency helps businesses reduce their energy bills, while the innovative design can cut installation and maintenance costs with contractor-friendly features including the SmartHinge™ louvered panel that allows faster, easier access to interior components from all sides.

Two-stage systems for energy savings, comfort and humidity control

Each S-Class unit has two operating stages, so a single compressor performs like a two-compressor system, using only the amount of energy necessary to keep occupants comfortable and reduce temperature swings. This two-stage system also provides better humidity control over a single-stage compressor system, especially during mild days when the system shifts to the lower-capacity stage for continued cooling and dehumidification.

To improve moisture removal even further, S-Class units can be matched with Lennox’ patented Humiditrol® enhanced dehumidification accessory (EDA), an option that provides a high level of independent humidity control. Additional factory options include the chlorine-free R-410A refrigerant, as well as 208/230V and 460V three-phase voltages for increased application flexibility.

“We are pleased to include Lennox’ S-Class split system as a Top Product Pick winner and recognize the product as a solution to improve the performance of a building or to address a building’s critical issues,” said Linda Monroe, managing editor, Buildings.

These elite products were selected based on a number of factors: aesthetics, ease of use, durability/lifecycle, efficiency of applicability, universal appeal, sustainable/green elements, and more.
